This guide to the Ring of Kerry is drawn from my 25+ years working in Irish archaeology. In the course of authoring a best-selling guidebook to the Wild Atlantic Way and during my work with Tuatha, I’ve had the great pleasure of spending a lot of time on the Ring of Kerry and the Iveragh Peninsula, there are few places I love more.

This itinerary features 22 of my favourite historic highlights, and I’ve tried to include a nice mix of monuments and stories. It’s not just a checklist of the obvious tourist stops, it is an immersive journey that allows you to really get under the skin of the landscape.
