In this sixth episode we look at how to research your ancestors on Griffith’s Valuation of Ireland, what it was, and how it can aid your genealogy research. This document predates the available censuses and the civil records (birth, marriage and deaths), so it is a great resource for discovering your ancestors a little further back in the 19th century. On top of that, it is one of the few resources we have that gives insight into where your family might have lived in the 1800s.
