Part 3: The Aftermath of the Rising – Life springs from death

This final talk focuses on the aftermath of the Rising, from the melancholy fate of the leaders of the provisional government through to its enormous influence on the War of Independence (and Civil War).

As with our previous talks, members will be shown some of the key sites associated with the latter, decisive years of Ireland’s ‘Decade of Revolution’.

Our series of talks will end with a discussion of the memory of 1916, particularly during the 50th and 100th anniversaries, and how the events of Easter Week still influence Ireland to this day.

If you haven’t already done so, you can watch Part 1 here, and Part 2 here.

If you’d like to follow the action on the ground, we have an illustrated guide here.
